The oils of the Castrol Magna SW B series (previous product name Castrol Magnaglide B series) are demulsifying high-performance slideway oils for machine tools. They are based on solvent raffinates with an additive system that ensures optimal load-bearing properties. The good demulsifying behavior when used with water-miscible cooling lubricants prevents the formation of residues on the slideways. Castrol Magna SW B oils are slideway oils of the CGLP type, marked in accordance with DIN 51502. Application The oils in the Castrol Magna SW B series are used both to lubricate metal sliding pairs and for metal/plastic combinations. Castrol Magna SW B ensures smooth and precise feed movements of workpiece and tool slides thanks to its resistant lubricating film with high adhesion. Even at the lowest sliding speeds and high specific loads, chatter marks on the workpieces are avoided. In addition, it is suitable for guides with roller bearings, spindle guides and in oil-filled milling heads. Castrol Magna SW B is designed for good demulsification of water-based cooling lubricants, so that the formation of sticky residues from bacterial and fungal cultures with limescale deposits between the sliding pairs is largely prevented. In order to preserve the special properties of Castrol Magna SW B oils, it is important that they are not mixed with zinc-containing oils.
