LIQUI MOLY 5169 Pro-Line Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner 1 Liter

Highly effective fluid for cleaning clogged car diesel particulate filters when installed. Dissolves hard, dense or encrusted dirt on the surface of diesel particulate filters. Ensures optimum driving behaviour, engine performance and low fuel consumption. Regular cleaning in combination with flushing can prevent expensive repairs.

 
For passenger car diesel vehicles with diesel particulate filters (DPF/FAP).
 
Application

Cleaning is carried out with the DPF pressure cup gun (item no. 7946) and the specially developed DPF lance with 5 spray probes (item no. 7945). Depending on the vehicle type, establish access to the diesel particulate filter. On most vehicles, remove the temperature or pressure sensor of the diesel particulate filter for this purpose. Note: The temperature of the particulate filter should be below 40 °C during cleaning. On some vehicles, the diesel particulate filter is not located on the vehicle underbody, but near the exhaust manifold or, if applicable, the exhaust turbocharger. For safety reasons, extreme care must be taken when cleaning these vehicles to ensure that no cleaning or flushing fluid enters the combustion chamber via an open exhaust valve.

Depending on the vehicle type, insert the corresponding Pro-Line spray probe into the particulate filter via the opening created. Spray the entire quantity of Pro-Line diesel particulate filter cleaner (1 litre) directly onto the surface of the particulate filter at several intervals of 5-10 seconds, each with a 5-10 second pause, at an operating pressure of 6-8 bar. Turn and move the probe back and forth during cleaning to wet the entire surface as much as possible. Allow the cleaner to take effect for approx. 15 minutes. Then rinse the particulate filter with the entire quantity of Pro-Line diesel particulate filter rinse (500 ml). Application is also carried out with the DPF pressure cup gun at the same intervals as for the cleaning fluid. Cleaning dissolves the soot and distributes it in the particulate filter to such an extent that it can be burnt off via normal regeneration. After reinstalling the sensor, the service centre or workshop must trigger a regeneration in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications.
